Yellow Golf Balls Are Increasing In Populartiy....Again

I may put this ball in play to see if I like it.  I like the fact that it is easier to see.

llow Golf Balls : Srixon Z-Star Tour Yellow Golf Balls

srixon-z-star-golf-balls.jpgYellow golf balls aren't what we typically think of when it comes to high performance technology on the course, but that might be about to change now that the Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf balls have hit the scene and are on the shelves of every pro shop in America. Are you looking for yellow golf balls that are tour proven, with excellent feel, and distance control? If yes, you may be in luck, because the Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf balls claim to do just that!

So what makes these golf balls so special? Well, besides the obvious fact that they're neon yellow, they also come equipped with 324 seamless dimples which helps to produce a very aggressive ball flight that maximizes distance. The Z-STAR Tour Yellow's also have an ultra-soft urethane cover, which is (currently) the thinnest in the game, even giving hack weekend golfers ample stopping power that's required on tight approach shots.

Thanks to our good friends over at we were able to get our hands on a couple dozen of the Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf balls over the past couple weeks and really put them through the paces. So let's get down to business. How do they perform? I'm glad you asked...
srixon-golf-ball-review.jpgFeel:
  • The Z-STAR Tour Yellow's feel soft, but jump off the club face, similar to a Titleist Pro v1. With the putter, the balls roll very nicely, with very little bobbling and jumping on the green at impact. As an added bonus science has recently proven that the color yellow is the most visible color in the visual spectrum and psychology has correlated green with calming and stress relief. If you're playing these bad boy's you should have no excuse for missing the 4ft down-hill knee-knocker for par ever again!
Spin:
  • From 150 yards and in, the Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow balls really shine. We found that the ultra-thin / soft shell actually does what it claims. We were able to create substantial backspin with minimal effort. This is no small feat. Off the tee the spin rate can cause problems if you tend to slice or hook the ball. Side spin with the big stick on a ball this soft is going to create some epic draws and fades if you're not careful.
Distance:
  • Off the tee our testing crew didn't experience major increase in distance, but overall we did see an increase in distance across the board.
Playability:
  • From off the tee, in the fairway, and even in the traps, the Z-STAR Tour Yellow held up nicely. NOTE: These balls perform best with driver swing speeds between 80mph and 105 mph.

The Bottom Line: We really like em! There's nothing traditional about Srixon Z-STAR Tour Yellow golf balls, and I think that's what we liked the most. We recommend these golf balls to anyone looking to shave a few strokes off their game and a few feet off their putts. And heck, Srixon's got some of the best players on tour in the world playing these balls already! Ever heard of Graeme McDowell, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, and Tim Clarke?
