Rain and It's Effects to Brown's Mill
I played Brown's Mill earlier in the Spring and I forgot to post this picture from my cell phone. We
We were playing the Par 5 8th hole and on my chip wedge 3rd shot, I noticed this poor little perch
who had evidently strayed too far doing the flash flood the night before!

Brown's Mill Golf Saturday 7.9.2011
Sam Matchett got off to a very impressive 39 front (started on the back 9) after a 45 min. delay due to a very crowded golf course on Saturday. It was supposed to be an 8:10 tee time, but we didn't get under way until around 9:30 in hot humid conditions. Of course the 2 iron men (Samuel and myself) walked. Sy Fitzgerald and Vincent (a gentleman who joined us) took the smarter course of action and walked.
Sam's 39 was even more impressive because he bogeyed the easy 10th, our 1st hole...he got to the greenside bunker in 2, but bladed his wedge into the hazard. I shot a very respectable 41 on the front, which included a double on the easy first hole as well. Standing around for an hour in that humidity did none of us any good.
Sam had to leave after 16 holes and he left a good score! He was gonna shoot around 79-80. I finished with an 82 (no birdies again...dang). Sy and Vincent finished with low 90's and we beat the rain by 5 min!

Charlie Plays Well and Shoots a Number
Charlie Goes Deep!
July 4th was a nice little outing that included Charles Edgerton,Sy Fitzgerald,SamWilson and myself at Brown's Mill Golf Course. The weather was perfect and the course was in very good condition.
Charles and I came through the turn at 42 and 41 while Sy (woozy tummy)and Sam struggled a bit on the front. Charlie really took it low with a 38 on the back which included a double and 2 birdies. Charles also had the longest drive I've seen on 16 when he had only a SANDWEDGE for his second leading to a run-away birdie.
I tried to keep pace, but a balky putter left me in a distant (84) second. Charlie ended up with a well played 80 and Sy and Sam regrouped on the back side to finish strongly.
Mr. Sam Wilson is driving the ball tremendously with a beautiful power draw which is unfortunately keeping him back with us on the back tees .....LOL..!
Sam Wilson Hitting it Long !
